Be on your guard, stand firm in faith, be a man of courage, be strong; do everything in love.

God and Misery
God and Misery
Misery comes at times in life and you can try to ride the times out leaning on God knowing he will in his time care for us for the best and a very good reason will unfold as to the necessity of the misery we've endure as a preparation for our ultimate calling. Well, have been miserable for the majority of my time for the past 10 years while I am struggling through a myriad of physical and emotional issues. It is hard to remain faithful to God when things seem so endlessly bleek. Why would he make one wait soooo long.
I know Job had a horrible journey of physical pain and hardships to the point where his wife asked him why he didn't just bail out of the misery and kill himself. He remained faithful to God and knew he would deliver and eventually his suffering passed and he was rewarded with a multitude of happiness. I am at the point where I am not sure that God is going to offer me happiness while in human form and matbe I will not be free until I go to the otherside.
Then I start questioning my Christian based beliefs that Jesus was God's only son sent here to suffer for the sins of us all and that if we just turn our lives over to him that we would be saved. Well, maybe this only works for criminals or something. He only sent Jesus to die to free us from the suffering of our sins?
And why is Jesus God's only son? I thought we we're all God's children. Seems like he was playing favorites. And really, Jesus only suffered the dragging of the cross and the horrible pain of being impaled and left hanging to die, but that didn't take years.
There are so many people in this world who have been left to suffer horribly for years and decades and scores. People just come up with something to say to sooth everyone's moments as they come and go.
These human words which can be digested by the sufferer is the real God power. We do it for each other or for ourselves, based on the beliefs we allow ourselves to hold. That is all we really have for certain.
But, if something is true, like there really is a God, then it is true whether or not we believe it. There is nothing we can do about it. If we are in pain, we suffer. That is real.
I don't know where I am going with this. I guess I am in a slump of faith, but something within me knows there is something to believe. I just got to keep hanging on. That is my Job.

Ubuntu
A person with ubuntu is open and available to others, affirming of others, does not feel threatened that others are able and good, for he or she has a proper self-assurance that comes from knowing that he or she belongs in a greater whole and is diminished when others are humiliated or diminished, when others are tortured or oppressed. ~ Archbishop Desmond Tutu, 1999

Hope
HOPE
by Neil Jensen
Sept 1995
200am, the clock is ticking
Funny how the clock is all you really hear
at this time
Dancin' Eatin'
Feeling the chaos of unsoberness all around
I still have no vice
I still have nothing more than
emptiness
and
hope
As long as you are empty
You can always hope
For what?
It doesn't matter
Whatever
Hope is the food we all desire
I want peace and love
and happiness
I hope that is all

Fish in the Sea
Fish in the Sea
by Neil Jensen
Sept 1995
Into the empty zone
Out with it, All of it
I can't think about me anymore
How distasteful
I can't think about you anymore
How vain
It's the world
It's the air
It's the flusher on the toilet tank
Thank you for that!
The birds, they do just fine
I watched the seagulls today
Pecking so focused
at that dead fish
Little sandpiper
There was no way
That fish was not yours!
That's how it is
I don't know
I thought that seagull should have shared
Nature thought not
I guess you just do
what you gotta do
Sandpiper,
Let me tell you
I walked that beach today
and there were a lot fish
to be had.
